School Vision and Values

Vision Statement

Christian Ethos, Caring Environment,

Children Excel

At the centre of the village of Callow End we are an outward looking Church of England Primary school which welcomes pupils from the village, Malvern, Worcester and the surrounding area. We work together to care for our pupils while encouraging them to flourish and do their best in all areas of their life.

The letters C & E are an important part of our school name and are used to outline our vision which is rooted in the teaching of the Bible.

Our Christian Ethos:

'Love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbour as yourself.' Luke 25.10

This central element of Christian behaviour underpins the clear ethos of Callow End CE Primary School and is also central to our values for life. Our vision and values are at the heart of everything we do and are embedded throughout the life of the school. They allow all the members of our school community to share an ethos of love and respect for others.

Linked Values - trust, peace and thankfulness.

Our Caring Environment:

'In everything do to others what you would have them do to you.' Matthew 7:12.'

Callow End CE Primary School provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment in which all our children's qualities and abilities are nurtured and celebrated. All pupils at Callow End grow in self confidence, resilience and independence; in the quality of their relationships and their care for their environment and each other. We also foster a spiritual and moral view of life throughout our school.

Linked Values - friendship, forgiveness and truth.

Our Children Excel:

'I came that they may have life and live it to the full.' John 10.10

At Callow End Primary School we value individual achievement, good relationships, inclusion, spirituality and enjoyment. Our experienced and dedicated staff know and understand our pupils and have high aspirations for them. Through encouragement and support, the staff are committed to enabling every child to reach their full potential, not only in academic work but also in creative, practical, sporting and social activities. Our pupils learn to live life to the full.

Linked Values - perseverance, respect and courage.

About our school:

Callow End is a small, friendly, family orientated primary school in the heart of the village.

Children join our Reception Class when they are four and stay with us up until Year 6 when they move on to high school. We are able to take 15 children in each year group and have around 95 children in all.

Children are taught in mixed age classes and we have four classes in total. We also have a small Pre-School which operates five days a week between 9.00 am  and 3:00 pm.

As children move through school we are committed to providing them with high quality learning experiences which develops their knowledge and skills and leads to a consistently high level of achievement each year. We also believe that by guiding children to grow in positive responsible people who can work and cooperate with others, they will achieve their true potential in life.

At Callow End we offer a curriculum that is broad and balanced. It is organised into themes and topics where possible and adjusted according to meet the needs and interests of the children each year. Although we strive to ensure our children succeed academically we believe in the importance of developing the whole child and consequently sport and the arts feature strongly in our curriculum. For more information please visit our curriculum pages.

Our school is situated in a lovely part of rural Worcestershire and learning outside of the classroom is strongly encouraged. As well as a wide variety of trips and visits, older children take part in activities such as Bellboating and an annual residential trip to North Wales.

We also have a Sensory Garden, Woodland School, gardening plots and  a purpose built mud kitchen. These features help to nurture the physical and mental well-being of our pupils

We are committed to working in partnership with parents and carers and value the support they give to school. Our staff are talented, dedicated and caring and together with our Governors work hard to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere in which all children are able to flourish.
