At our school, we are proud to offer a high-quality Physical Education (PE) programme that encourages all children to take part in a wide variety of sports and physical activities. We believe that PE plays a vital role in supporting children’s physical health, mental well-being and overall development.
Through our PE curriculum, we aim to develop confident, active and healthy individuals who enjoy being physically active both in and out of school. All pupils are encouraged to participate, challenge themselves and experience success, regardless of their ability or previous experience.
Our sports funding enables us to enhance PE provision by employing qualified coaches who work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons. This not only benefits pupils through specialist coaching but also helps to develop staff skills and confidence, ensuring long-term improvements in PE teaching. As a result, children enjoy a broad range of enhanced PE sessions that inspire a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
The PE and Sport Premium is funding provided by the government to primary schools to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and sport. The funding is allocated based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6 and is intended to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, physical activity and sport offered.
Schools are expected to use the funding to:
At our school, the PE and Sport Premium is used in line with government guidance. This includes employing qualified sports coaches to support the delivery of PE, providing professional development opportunities for staff, enhancing PE resources and equipment, and increasing opportunities for pupils to participate in a wider range of physical activities.
The impact of the funding is monitored and evaluated annually to ensure that it is being used effectively and provides value for money, with a focus on increasing participation, improving teaching quality and supporting pupils’ physical health and well-being.
