At our school, we are proud to offer a high-quality Physical Education (PE) programme that encourages all children to take part in a wide variety of sports and physical activities. We believe that PE plays a vital role in supporting children’s physical health, mental well-being and overall development.

Through our PE curriculum, we aim to develop confident, active and healthy individuals who enjoy being physically active both in and out of school. All pupils are encouraged to participate, challenge themselves and experience success, regardless of their ability or previous experience.

Our sports funding enables us to enhance PE provision by employing qualified coaches who work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons. This not only benefits pupils through specialist coaching but also helps to develop staff skills and confidence, ensuring long-term improvements in PE teaching. As a result, children enjoy a broad range of enhanced PE sessions that inspire a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.

    Worcester Wolves

We were delighted to welcome the fantastic team from Worcester Wolves for a truly inspiring visit to our school. The head coach, players and their much-loved mascot, Wolfie, led an engaging assembly for our pupils.

During the assembly, the players shared their personal journeys into basketball, speaking about how they first discovered their love for the sport and the dedication it takes to play at a professional level. They also talked about the importance of staying fit and healthy, both physically and mentally.

The assembly was full of excitement, especially when Wolfie joined in, and the children were thrilled to meet the team. The visit has sparked great enthusiasm across the school, and many pupils are already looking forward to taking part in our new after-school basketball club run by members of the Worcester Wolves club.

    Curling and Boccia Festival

Our pupils enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to take part in a sports festival hosted by our local high school. The children were invited to try inclusive activities such as Curling and Boccia, giving them the chance to experience new sports in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The event was filled with teamwork and excitement. Our pupils showed great enthusiasm as they developed new skills, encouraged one another and celebrated their successes together. Experiences like this help build confidence, promote active lifestyles and strengthen our links with the wider community.

We are proud to offer our children opportunities like this, enabling them to explore different sporting activities, represent the school and most importantly, have lots of fun along the way.

    Netball Cluster Tournament

Our school is proud to offer pupils opportunities to take part in sporting events hosted by local high schools. These events allow children to experience friendly competition, develop teamwork skills, and represent our school in a wider sporting community.

Recently, a group of pupils attended a netball tournament at a nearby high school, where they competed alongside teams from other local primary schools.  It was a wonderful opportunity for them to play in a larger sports setting, meet new teams, and apply the skills they have been developing in their PE lessons and after school club.

We value these partnerships with our local secondary schools, as they help to broaden pupils’ sporting experiences and give them a glimpse of the facilities and opportunities available to them in the future.

We are proud of our achievements...

    Sports kits Sponsors

We have been incredibly fortunate to receive wonderful support from our parents and local businesses in helping us secure brand new kit for our sporting events this year. Thanks to their generosity, our children will be able to represent the school with pride when attending tournaments, festivals and competitions.

We are extremely grateful for the encouragement and sponsorship from our school community. Their support not only helps provide high-quality kit for our teams but also shows the children how valued and supported they are by those around them. We look forward to showcasing our new kit at sporting events throughout the year and proudly representing all those who have helped make this possible.

    Sports Premium

What is the Sports Premium funding?

The PE and Sport Premium is funding provided by the government to primary schools to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and sport. The funding is allocated based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6 and is intended to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, physical activity and sport offered.

Schools are expected to use the funding to:

    • * Develop or add to the PE and sport activities already offered
    • * Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure improvements are sustainable in the long term

At our school, the PE and Sport Premium is used in line with government guidance. This includes employing qualified sports coaches to support the delivery of PE, providing professional development opportunities for staff, enhancing PE resources and equipment, and increasing opportunities for pupils to participate in a wider range of physical activities.

The impact of the funding is monitored and evaluated annually to ensure that it is being used effectively and provides value for money, with a focus on increasing participation, improving teaching quality and supporting pupils’ physical health and well-being.
