Friends Association

The Friends

The Friends Association was started in 2003 to help advance the education of the children at Callow End Primary School by developing good relationships between parents and staff and to engage in fundraising activities in order to provide facilities or equipment which will enhance the education of the pupils.

It has a constitution which is registered with the Charity Commission and we hold an AGM in September. The Officers of the Association are the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and two other committee members. All parents/carers are part of the Friends Association and are welcome at meetings held during the year and the AGM.

The Friends Association hold fundraising events throughout the school year and we rely on the support of parents and extended family members, staff and pupils to make these events successful. We are also fortunate to get support from other people and businesses in our local community for many events.

The money raised at these events all goes to enhance the time the children spend at Callow End Primary School. We subsidise trips and events, pay for the children's Christmas party, subsidise the Christmas lunch and provide equipment for the school.

In recent years we have helped to purchase the following items:

  • Playground markings
  • Outside gym equipment
  • Buddy bench
  • Playground bins
  • Library books
  • Wet play games
  • Music
  • Gardening supplies
